General Contact Information
Chemistry Research Technicians - CRT
The CRT operate as a team with a combined office phone number (45746) and email address. If you have a fairly generic enquiry it is best to make contact here for the quickest response. On the other hand if you know who you are looking for you can contact them individually below.
Wiki
If you are reading this then presumably you have already found our Wiki. We are hoping to use this more and more to disseminate information effectively in the future. The principle is to save us time behind our desks to get out in the workshop and the department and get on with things.
Please do not be affronted if we respond to your email with a direct link here, it is probably because we have already answered your question to someone else and are trying to save time by sharing it here. If, after reading the wiki, you still have questions we will be more than happy to help you and a more informed question generally gets a better answer.
Team members
Chief Services Technician - Peter Sulsh
The team is led by Pete Sulsh, who is known to everyone in the department before long. Pete gets a lot of queries/requests/emails so will not always be able to get back to you immediately. If there is a specific service you need you would be best off getting in touch with the appropriate team member, below.
Electrical Safety Technician - Stefanos Karapanagiotidis
Stefanos is our resident electrician for dealing with research equipment. He is also the departmental PAT Tester. You can find his full profile here.
Scientific Glassblower - Stephen Ramsey
Stephen is our resident glassblower, specialising in Scientific Research and Development. He has extensive experience in industry and the university. Due to limited facilities he will contract out basic jobs, but he can still create bespoke glass-ware on site. You can find his full profile here.
Electronics Information Officer - Stephen Atkins
Stephen designs and creates printed circuit boards for scientific research. You can find his full profile here.
Workshop Engineer - Lee Tooley
Lee is our departmental engineer - producing bespoke machined items for research in the Chemistry Department. You can find his full profile here.

Bill is the resident chemist on the technical team. He operates the Solvent Drying Towers and is the principal person in charge of Chemical Waste Disposal. Bill is also helping to develop the infrastructure for the Chemical Tracking Project which is due to go live across the next 12 months. He will become the departmental administrator when this system is in place so should you have any queries please direct them to him. You can find his full profile here.

Location
The central CRT office is located in room 132a, C1, Chemistry (just inside Briscoe Lab). When trying to get access, it is best to ring the office from the corridor telephone near the goods lift - if we are in we will let you in.
Pete Sulsh is a particularly busy individual and can be quite hard to track down. He operates office hours where possible, from his office in room 235, C1, Chemistry (opposite the common room café), between 10:00-10:30 and 14:00-14:30.
Our two satellite team-members, Lee Tooley and Stephen Atkins can usually be found in the Physics workshop or in 448, C1, Chemistry respectively.
