Projection using WiFi-enabled projectors

This relates primarily to NEC projectors. Software for laptops is available here.

This works by connecting a laptop to the projector using the standard video cable. If you want to be online, connect the laptop specifically using a wired ethernet cable. What follows here is for a MacBook Air. An equivalent procedure is (presumably) followed for Windows.
Install Reflector (available for both Windows and OS X). This creates an Airplay device which (one or more) iPad can detect.
The laptop should now be used to create a private WiFi network (separate from the ethernet one). Such a network will support the Bonjour discovery protocols needed for eg an iPad to discovery the Airplay device.
