From ChemWiki

Ethenzamide

Ethenzamide has become widely used in cold and flu medications due to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is based on a salicylic acid derivative and it is only a pro-drug. In the human body it is very rapidly and completely metabolized to 2-ethoxybenzoic acid. Its analgesic action is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins and the release of bradykinine.
